The history behind the Centre for Full Employment and our unique recruitment service.
From 2001 to 2004, CFFE developed Sheffield´s Intermediate Labour Market Programme. In response to the city´s unemployment, the programme aimed to move people from long term unemployment into sustained work. The Intermediate Labour Market Programme successfully placed hundreds of disabled, black and minority ethnic groups, and over 50´s into paid employment.
Working in partnership with voluntary and community organisations, CFFE created a Jobnet network of local recruitment agencies in 2005. This service engaged with economically inactive residents who were unable to access mainstream programmes, delivering end to end support to unemployed clients.
CFFE continued to establish a city wide Employer Engagement Team working with employers to identify vacancies. Subsequently, these vacancies were filled by job ready candidates drawn from Jobnet clients. Employers were able to register vacancies with CFFE to find suitable candidates to fill vacancies.
Due to the success of Jobnet, Sheffield City Council funded the network until the new European Social Fund was set up in order to improve employment opportunities. Sheffield City Council also funded the Employer Engagement Activity until the European Regional Development Fund project Opportunity Sheffield was tendered.
Under Sheffield City Council, CFFE provided Deprived Area Fund activity. CFFE successfully engaged employers, resulting in companies placing vacancies with CFFE for jobs specifically aimed at clients on incapacity benefit.
Between 2008 and 2010, CFFE worked with the regional Information, Advice and Guidance for Employability contractor. CFFE are currently contracted to deliver the Future Jobs Fund, carry out activity under Opportunity Sheffield by Sheffield City Council, and the Department for Work and Pensions Professional/Executive and UK online centre.
CFFE´s current involvement in the Work Programme aims to provide tailored support for individuals needing help with finding a job. As a contracted service provider, CFFE are able to support participants, assist in their job seeking, and meet delivery standards.
